STYLE GUIDELINES FOR PREPARATION OF MANUSCRIPT

Begin with two unnumbered pages: page one (cover sheet) of the paper with the title and byline and page two an abstract of 100-150 words, typed and double-space.

All footnotes including the one identifying the author(s) with complete mailing address(es) stating zip code, telephone and fax numbers (if any, and affiliations of author(s), should be typed on a separate page at the end of the manuscript, following the references (see #5 on Footnotes below).

TEXT: The text should be serially numbered, preferably top center of each page. The sequence of the manuscript should be as follows: (I) the two unnumbered pages (see above #1), (ii) text, (iii) acknowledgement(s), (iv) footnotes (v) references, (vi) tables, and (vii) figures and figure captions.

  1. Each main section of text must be numbered in roman numerals, including the introduction and conclusion. Also, all papers must have and abstract.
2.2. In general, follow American Economic Association style. Submit four copies of manuscript with a submission fee of US$60 (US $40 for ACAES members): maximum length 40 pages inclusive of all entries, text, diagrams,, tables and charts, footnotes and references, tables, figure captions, and figures. Must double-space all materials in standard-size paper (8.5 x 11 or 8.25 x 11.25) with one-inch margins on both sides, and also on top and bottom, of a page. Note that references and footnotes begin on new pages at the end of the text. Two half-pages will count as one page.

2.3 Quotation(s) must correspond exactly to the original wording, spelling, and punctuation. Page numbers of quotation(s) must be given. Changes, if any, (insertions, omissions) must be specifically indicated. Also, indicate emphasis on a part of the quotation(s), if any.

2.4. Mathematical equation(s) must be typed on separate lines, with space allowed for copy-editing above and below.

  1. Table(s), numbered consecutively, should be designed to fit into the page size. If necessary, a long table may take multiple pages. Tables must be counted in the total page limit for the paper.
  2. Figures must be camera-ready (not needing further artwork or typesetting) with large enough lettering permitting any possible reduction at the production stage. Photocopies and typescript lettering are NOT acceptable.
  3. Footnote(s) should be kept to a minimum. They must be double-spaded, and must begin in a new page at the end of the text and reference.ne author-indication footnote should be marked with an asterisk (*), and the rest are to be numbered consecutively, using Arabic numerals. Note that the footnote(s) will be counted to the total page limit of the paper.
  4. Reference(s) must correspond to direct citations in the text, stating full name(s) of the author(s), of the publisher, the place and year of publication, and page(s). All journal citations must be fully spedded out (no abbreviations). They must be double-spaced and must begin on a new page. They too will be counted to the total page limit. Also see below.
Reference style, as follows:

Single author works, list chronologically; coauthored works (two authors), list alphabetically and then chronologically; coauthored works (three or more authors), list chronologically. List all authors, last name first, followed by first name or initials. Spell out all journal names, i.e., do not abbreviate. Sample references:

Accuracy of all material supplied on disk and manuscript is the responsibility of the author. All material must be spell checked. Also, all technical material must be clearly denoted. These requirements apply to all stages of the production process.
